Chicago has real demand for lymphatic care, but most of what is available in the city is general relaxation spa work. National Lymphatic Centers is a certified-lymphedema-therapist practice built around the Vogel Method of manual lymphatic drainage, about twenty-four miles west-southwest of the Loop in DuPage County.
Patients travel out from the city for the work a day spa cannot deliver: post-surgical recovery, lymphedema and lipedema management, and clinical drainage for swelling that will not settle. The drive from most of Chicago runs a little over half an hour to either clinic, and Downers Grove is the closest by distance.

Certified lymphatic care is rarer than it should be. The therapy that helps a swollen arm after breast cancer treatment, a leg that will not drain with lymphedema, or a face healing from cosmetic surgery is a trained clinical skill, and the training matters more than the address. It is why patients make the drive west: the Vogel Method has been practiced at our clinics since 1991, and every therapist works under it.
The two clinics are nearly the same distance from the city, so route is usually the deciding factor. Downers Grove sits off the westbound corridors and is about a thirty-four minute drive; Hinsdale is a minute closer on most days. If you would rather not drive at all, both clinics sit near Metra stations on the BNSF line, and the Downers Grove clinic is directly across from the Main Street station.
One access note before you book: our Hinsdale suite is up a winding staircase and our Downers Grove entrance has four steps. If stairs are a problem, or you use a wheelchair, tell us when you call and we will book you at our Joliet clinic, which has an elevator, handicapped parking, and handicapped bathrooms.
