Come learn how your lymphatic system actually works.
We host lectures, classes, and community sessions on the lymphatic system and the conditions it touches. Some are for patients. Some are for other health professionals. All of them come from the same place our practice does: teaching.
Teaching since 1991 · Led by board-certified founder Sharon Vogel · Hinsdale · Downers Grove · Joliet
Lymphatic health makes more sense once someone explains it.
Most people meet the lymphatic system for the first time when something goes wrong. A swollen limb. Puffiness that will not settle. A doctor mentions lymphedema and you leave the appointment with a word you have never had to think about before.
That is where our events come in. Sharon Vogel has taught this work since 1991, and she teaches the same way at a lecture as she does at the treatment table. Plain words. Real mechanism. Room for your questions. The goal is simple: you walk out understanding your own body a little better than you walked in.
Lymphormation, our lectures on the lymphatic system.
Lymphormation is our standing education series on how the lymphatic system moves, what slows it down, and what manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) can and cannot do. Sharon walks through the physics of it in language you can actually follow, then opens the floor.
These sessions suit anyone living with lymphedema or lipedema, recovering from surgery, or simply curious about the system that keeps their tissue clear. There is a professional track too. Health-industry practitioners can take the paid Lymphormation classes through the Vogel Institute of Lymphology, which Sharon founded to teach the Vogel Method to other therapists.
Dated Lymphormation lectures and classes go out as they are scheduled. Contact us to hear when the next one runs.
The LE&RN support group and Lymph Lecture.
Sharon chairs the Illinois Chapter of the Lymphatic Education and Research Network (LE&RN), the national nonprofit for lymphatic disease. Through the chapter, our Joliet clinic hosts two free monthly gatherings for patients, caretakers, and anyone who wants to understand lymphatic conditions better.
The patient support group meets on the second Sunday of each month at 11 a.m. The Lymph Lecture runs on the second Saturday of each month at 2 p.m. Both are held at our Joliet clinic, 3100 Theodore Street, Suite 202, and both are free to attend.
These run monthly. Call 630-828-6582 to confirm the next date before you come, since a holiday can shift a session.
Women & Wellness, conversations about the body you live in.
Our Women & Wellness sessions look at the parts of health that often go unspoken. Fluid retention, bloating, hormonal shifts, stagnant lymph, and how lymphatic care fits alongside the rest of it. These run warmer than a lecture. Think conversation, questions, and practical guidance you can use the same week.
They are grounded in the same clinical understanding that guides every session at our clinics, so the advice holds up. You leave with clear, practical steps you can use at home.
Women & Wellness sessions are scheduled through the year. Contact us and we will let you know when the next one is set.
Showing up where the lymphatic community gathers.
Beyond our own lectures, we take part in wider community and awareness work around lymphatic health. Lymphedema and lipedema are common, under-recognised, and easy to feel alone with. Public awareness is part of how that changes, so we show up for it.
If you run a support group, a wellness event, or an awareness day and want a lymphatic therapist in the room, we would like to hear from you.
Community appearances, awareness days, and outreach are confirmed as they come up. Tell us what you are planning and we will see how we can help.
Prefer to learn between events?
Sharon teaches through short videos too. Watch lymphatic education whenever it suits you, then bring your questions to the next lecture.
